Sewing and Chess.

At Enrich today we started off with Chess.  I played Matt L.  I won the first game and then we didn't have enough time to finish our second game.  The top six on the Chess leader board are: Bruno, Me, Matt L, Lucy, Rhylee and Mia.

During talent development and passion time I was doing sewing.  I finished an apple and have nearly finished my fish that I am working on.  The hardest part with my sewing is threading the needle, which I seem to have to do every single time!

Sewing and Chess

This week at Enrich we started off with Chess.  I played Norton.  She took out my Queen and Rook but then I came back to win with a Rook and two Queens.  The top six on the Chess leaderboard are: Bruno, Me, Matt L, Lucy, Mia and Katura.

During Talent Development/Passion time I was doing sewing.  Today, I had Sharleen come in to help me with me sewing. I learnt all the basics and I made two pin cushions out of bright red fabric.  I made the two pin cushions because I didn't have one and Enrich didn't have one.

Technology challenge

Today at Enrich we did a technology challenge.  The idea of this technology challenge was to make a structure to be able to fit three people inside without it collapsing.  In my team we had me, Bruno, Matt L and Travis.  Our group ended up winning by 1 point over Ali, Rhea and Emily.  The structure we made was a teepee like thing.  We managed to fit two people inside, but it was a bit of a squeeze!

Talent Development and Chess

Today at Enrich my favourite part of the day has been Talent development.  Because guess what we did today......?  We finished our commercial!.  Since we have finished our commercial, we have to do passion time now.  I have chosen to do sewing for my passion time.

At Chess today I played Matt L.  I won the game because I moved my bishop into a place so wherever he moved, he would lose his Queen.  After I played Matt L, I played Luca.  I won the game by using a move I made up myself.  I call it multi-scholars.  The top six on the leader board are: Me, Matt L, Mia, Katura, Rhylee and Travis.

Mind mapping.

Today at Enrich we started of by doing something called mind mapping.  Going into this activity I didn't know what mind mapping was.  It can be about anything you want.  But for us it had to be about someone gifted. I chose J.R.R Tolkien because he has creativity, task commitment and above average ability. Mind mapping starts with one big idea and then you use the branches to break it down even more.

Chess

Today at Enrich It started off with..... Chess.  I challenged Liam Watkins.  He went to the Chess tournament in Dunedin last Saturday.  Right back to the game, Liam got White, that was the colour I wanted to get.  Oh Well at least I got Black.  He tried to open up with scholars but I blocked it. Liam nearly got me in check mate already but I blocked with a pawn.  If he took my pawn he would lose his Queen so he moved it back to something like E3.  In two moves I'm going to get Liam in check mate but oh come on Katie just put the music on and Liam destroyed the board.  At least he was below me.

Chess and Talent Development

Today at Enrich we started off playing Chess.  At the moment I am very happy because I have just gotten into the Enrich Chess team for the Otago/Southland Chess competition in Dunedin this weekend.  I played Matt S today and I won. Straight after that I played Liam and I was about to win but, Katie just started the music so I actually didn't win. The top six are: Matt L, Bruno, Me, Liam, Matt S and Luca.

Today we also did talent development. For MADE Awards we started to do our filming. All the filming we did was at Enrich. We were meant to go to Waihopai School,  but it was pouring down with rain and Norton wasn't here. My favourite part was filming because I love using the video cameras. We have already used up 2 minutes of filming and we are only allowed 45 seconds, so we have to edit a lot of our footage.
